Mike served as a volunteer Emergency medical Technician for Farmington Area Ambulance Service for 38 years and was a director and president of that organization. The trail is used by the people who live along it, and by those from elsewhere seeking serenity in rural landscapes. The Rail 66 Country Trail is a non-motorized, 4-season trail that currently stretches 4.3 miles through the scenic countryside of northern Clarion County near the Village of Lucinda on the historic Knox-Kane railroad bed. Mike received several awards for contributions to company cost control efforts. He has authored more than fifty-four articles and professional publications.
